Frank Lubnow

Frank Lubnow was born in Frankfurt/Main and started playing the piano at the age of 6. Complementary studies in his younger years reached from  clarinet playing to rock band and vocal quintet. He studied piano with Elena Lapitskaja at the Berlin Music Academy and with the English pianist Michael Roll at the Folkwang Music Academy  in Essen. In addition he participated in master classes with Günther Ludwig and Jürgen Uhde. He also studied composition with the Argentinian composer Gustavo Beytelmann in Paris. Lubnow´s recent compositions contain stage music as well as Lied compositions and chamber music including a string quartet.As a pianist he appears as a soloist in numerous recitals and with orchestra (debut with the Düsseldorf Symphony), as a Lied accompanist and chamber musician. He works together with singers such as Friedrich Molsberger, the chansonette Christin Marquitan and with violinist Daniela Braun. The CD "Der Kuss der Fee" (The fairy´s Kiss") featuring works by Stravinsky, Bach, Milhaud, and Tango Nuevo, with Daniela Braun as violinist  received a good acceptance by the international press. Frank Lubnow lives and works as pianist, composer and tango teacher in Berlin.
